ECARDC: The ECARDC Network (European Conference on Agriculture and Rural Development in China) is an academic network that provides an international forum to meet, discuss and share information and experiences about China's rural development among scholars, development agencies, international donors, and professionals in development aid.
NACS: The Nordic Association for China Studies (NACS) is an academic network for Nordic scholars, teachers and students specialising in Chinese Studies with a focus on humanities and social sciences. Moreover, NACS provides a network for distribution of relevant information and events.
EACS: The European Association for Chinese Studies (EACS) is an international organisation representing China scholars from all over Europe. It was founded in 1975 and currently has more than 700 members. The association organizes bi-annual conferences in various centres of Chinese Studies in different European countries, where the topics comprise traditional Sinology as well as studies of modern China.
NIAS: The Nordic Institute of Asian Studies is a Nordic research and service institute with a focus on social, cultural, political, economic and business transformations in modern Asia in their historical contexts. NIAS functions as a hub for Asian studies in the Nordic region with a range of services and activities that support the development of Asian studies and enhance the visibility and applications of Asian studies.
The website of the CCRS is also a valuable resource for the study of rural China, where you can find updated information on many aspects of the situation in rural China, as well as a discussion forum. Chinese language only.
The Cultural Development Center for Rural Women is a Chinese NGO that seeks to promote the social development of China's rural women. Since its foundation ten years ago the organization has grown from its core activity of publishing the magazine Rural Women to become a major non-profit organization. Today their activities include publishing a monthly newsletter as well as managing a training center for rural women and a club for migrant women in Beijing. Their website is primarily in Chinese.
